Deep beneath the coral reef

Deep beneath the underneath

Marine forests bursting with reefs

Brimming full of activity

Organisms growing creatures glowing

A kaleidoscopic sight

Shoals of neon clown fish

Symbiotic exotic bright alight

Mantaray with giant wings

Leaping into flight

Hierarchy’s of voracious sharks

Patrolling with a fright

A million different coral trees

Swaying amongst the dancing reefs

Myriads of algae adding colour to our seas

Metamorphic shaded Squids

Octopuses bleeding inks

All destroyed with in a blink

The change in climate and swiftly rising heat

Means the colourful sea bed is now being  bleached

In a matter of years in a matter of weeks

      Desolate weak now incomplete

These beautiful reefs left looking bleak.

The shifting sands of time

Once bustling empires grand

Now reduced to dunes and scorching sands

Ancient towns pillared cities and temple lands

Carved into sand stone ,etched into time

Trading places silk routes wealthy Byzantines

Kings sat on golden thrones in  majestic lofty homes

Now almost eroded and erased from the earths face

Once abundant forests fields of grass and lakes

Bustling merchants selling frankincense

Now dissolved into mirages of ruined oblivion

Golden Kingdoms once gloriously divine

Suddenly fell into decline

Destroyed now disappearing

The city of Petra lost in the shifting sands of time .

Extinct 2019

Once the simple joy of discovery, a species of wondrous beauty

Is now followed by an irreplaceable catastrophe,

Its hard to accept , to fathom , or think

That sooner or later it will become extinct

When endangered lived amongst us,

It rarely caught a passing blink,

Instead we went out buying flowers in bright pots

Hypnotised in supermarket shops

Distracted by the rat race the common place

Not many bothered to notice or protect the precious

So now an impending sense of loss

Now its existence is a threatened thing

Its on the brink its almost extinct

Man created alone 2005

Man, Man create alone

Clay and bones, the piteous one, the admirable one

Always in need and forlorn,

That is how he was borne,

In science he fulfils his curiosity resolves all niggling doubts with his alchemy,

Loses himself in grand offices of red tape and bureaucracy,

All the whilst he seeks intimacy yet he can’t even replant the trees,

Rules and ideologies will plunder from his lips, until the sun and moon eclipse,

Until the earth shakes up her heaving Guts,

In terror, tremors and floods,

And everything will and grind to a halt,

Becoming dead bones and soot …

Blue versus white

He was bathed in a strong blue light

She was swathed with a bright white light

The guardian angels informed her at night

They where not meant to be together in this life.

Bandwagon

Everybody’s jumping onto some personal band wagon,

Looking for a junction to gatecrash into heaven,

Filling in the gaps we kidnapped from our lives,

Running from extinction ,

Avoiding  Armageddon ,

Levitating closer to some faux Utopia

That we most probably will never live to see.

Contemplating further ,

Searching for that higher purpose,

Looking for some saviour, without clay feet to shatter

One in MILLION a billion armchair warriors,

A Chance To delay the oncoming cataclysm,

Every soul despises to see its own death coming,

Just small changes to console our  inner selves

To avoid the inevitability that life itself is expiring on the shelf

Inclining

Call me cynical

Or overcritical

But every man

Walks towards his own agenda

The human heart naturally

Inclines towards greed and hypocrisy.

With an ego that feeds of power and attention

Status and popularity without introspection.
